“Are you talking to me?”: three ways we have improved our communication about returnable packaging

Posted by Ilari Laitinen on Jun 4, 2021 10:50:32 AM  •  read time 3 min

RePack packages are designed to be returned and reused, meaning that design choices have been made with this in mind. When empty, the packages can be folded to the size of a small envelope so that they can easily be returned via the postal system, and thus be reused.

For the last five years, we have systematically collected feedback from both our customers as well as consumers – who are the ultimate end-users of the RePack packages. We do not only listen to our end-users but also try to engage them in our design process.

Even though most of our feedback is ridiculously good, there are always plenty of helpful suggestions for improvements that we try to implement in our products and services.

Posted by Cecilia Loeber on Jun 1, 2021 9:50:43 AM  •  read time 1 min

It is an incredible honor that RePack has been selected as the winner of the category ‘Excellent Communication Design Packaging’!

The German Design Council evaluates projects based on i.a. their concept, sustainability, and durability. The aim of the competition is to not only promote the winning projects but also educate the greater public on good design. The German Design Award is highly valued in today's design industry. And lastly, the project provides an answer to current challenges.

Summary of Fashion For Good world latest report on reusable packaging!

Posted by Clémence Avignon on May 3, 2021 10:49:49 AM  •  read time 4 min

Our partner Fashion For Good released a very, very important case study for reuse in e-commerce. We gather the main findings in this blog post, but we also strongly recommend that you read the 42 pages too! So far, there’s been a lack of in-depth, external case studies on reusable packaging, to help brands, retailers and consumers make informed choices.

At the same time, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, e-commerce is expected to reach 40 billion (!!!!!!) deliveries per year in Europe in 2029. The USA experienced the same level of e-commerce growth in the second quarter of 2020 as it had over the previous 5 years.

This growth twins with a skyrocketing demand for virgin raw material, and generates a crazy, never-seen-before amount of trash.
